The 'Vortex'

I've recently been reading about a handy gadget called a vortex for the Weber kettle.

According to several posts on the CountryWoodSmoke Facebook Page, the vortex raises the temperature by directing the airflow and concentrating the flow over the coals.

This is highly recommended for Chicken Wings to acheive crispy skin.

It just so happens that a fellow member of the CWS FB Group has engineered a 'single piece' stainless design and was selling on Amazon for a bargain £25.

The item arrived quickly, in perfect condition. I was surprised at the size of the thing, but it fits perfectly in the centre of the Weber 57cm grill.

I was also able to re-purpose the stylish B&B Smoker Co. Sticker label onto another project I am working on.

Can't wait to give it a try in some wings, to see how much of a difference it makes.
I'll do a seperate post on that soon.
